As a human, we are intrigued by the development and innovations of the technological world. Some of these developments work out, others are miserable failures. Today we will look at where Samsung is going with their smartphones, specifically the newer Samsung Edge models. These phones are a pricey investment. I have a Samsung Galaxy Edge 6+ as my current phone, so I am speaking from experience when I say it came with a nine hundred dollar price tag. Granted my upgrade took three hundred dollars off, but that’s still six hundred dollars out of my pocket. The phone itself just gives off a vibe of modernization with the sleek design of the curved screen. It’s a look that no other phone possesses. But is it worth the cash stack you have to throw out for it? I’d say it’s worth it if you’re someone who can stand always having an Otterbox case, and never drop it. I didn’t have a case on it for the first month, and next thing you know the back of my phone is broken. The worst part is that I never dropped it, and to this day I still don’t know how it shattered. It’s really no big deal, because you can’t see it with the case on but say you still wanted to get it fixed. It’s only a piece of glass on the back of the phone, a piece of glass you can order for twenty dollars off of Amazon.com. If you try taking it to your phone company to get it repaired, they’re going to charge you another hefty fee of one hundred and fifty dollars to replace the phone, not to repair it; this is the price with insurance, if you aren’t insured then you can expect to throw out an even larger amount of cash. It’s a great phone, especially the 16MP camera that it wields, but I don’t think the fragility makes up for the great features it offers. Next time my upgrade rolls around, you’ll be seeing a switch from the Samsung Edge back to the Samsung Note.
